Q: What qualifications do your guides have?A: Our partners at Pathways have been operating canoe trips on the Bowron Lakes for over 20 years. Some of the guides have been with the company since 1970 and know the the area intimately and are committed to advancing your wilderness knowledge and skills. They believe in the importance of canoeing to the Canadian tradition and are eager to share this truly unique Canadian experience with you. All staff are fun to travel with and they will go out of their way to assist you and make sure you enjoy your adventure in the Canadian wilderness.
Q: Do most people come as singles or couples?
A: The average group consists of two couples, four singles and a couple of friends. People of all ages and families join our trips.
Q: What kind of food do you serve?
A: Healthy, wholesome cuisine with a more vegetarian influence is custom packaged and skillfully prepared by your guides. We do cater to special diets with enough advance notice.
Q: Does one need previous canoeing experience?
A: No. Your guides will teach you the necessary paddling skills and familiarize you with safe canoeing practices on day 1. By day 5, you will have adequately refined your techniques to safely paddle the moving water section of the trip. You will finish the trip feeling confident enough to paddle your own canoe.
Q: Can you arrange private & custom trips?
A: Yes. Nothing can be better than a group of old friends or family getting together for a wilderness trip, far away from the distractions of the fast track world. We are booking an increasing number of these departures but you have to contact our office well in advance of your planned departure date to ensure trip availability.
